Abstract Submission


  • Call for Abstracts and Abstract Submission Guideline

    The Organizing Committee and Scientific Committee of the Global Globin 2020 Challenge (GG2020) Conference invites academics, researchers, medical specialists and other health professionals to submit abstract(s) for consideration as ORAL or POSTER presentation at the conference covering the following themes:

    • Thalassaemia and Red Cell Disorders
    • Epidemiology of Haemoglobinopathy
    • Screening and Prevention
    • Diagnostics and Monitoring Techniques
    • Molecular Diagnostics and Precision Medicine
    • Thalassaemia and their Complications
    • Ethical Issues in Thalassaemia Care and Prevention
    • New advances in Treatment

  • Instructions to authors

    Carefully read the guidelines below before submitting your abstract. Acknowledgement of the receipt of your submission will be sent to the corresponding author’s e-mail address immediately upon submission. If you do not receive the confirmation e-mail, please contact us at gg2020conference@gmail.com.

  • Submission guidelines

    • You have to register as participant before you submit the abstract
    • Please log-in as participant and abstract submission can be made after you have successful registered
    • You can be the presenting author of more than one
    • You can be a co-author of more than one abstract
    • Submission of similar abstracts from the same group is discouraged
    • Abstracts will only be considered for presentation if they are not published or submitted for presentation elsewhere

  • Abstract language and length

    Abstracts must be written in English. The maximum length allowed for an abstract is 250 words [Indicate the word count at the bottom right corner of your abstract]. Abstract title, author(s) or names of institutions are not included in the count.

  • Abstract structure and content

    To make the abstract as informative as possible, please include a brief statement of the aim of the study and/or the underlying hypotheses, the methodology, results, and the conclusions based upon the results. It is inadequate to state “The results will be discussed” or “The data will be presented”. You may subtitle the paragraphs in the following order: Aim, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.

    Names of authors (full name of all author(s) should be used, presenting author's name underlined). Please use superscript letters to match authors and institutions (if any author is from different institute). The list of author names should be followed by the authors' institutions (marked with superscript letters, and must include department / school and institution, postcode, city, state and country).

    Abstracts and authors information must be written in English, MS Word format, font Times New Roman size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.

  • Abstract Presentations

    Please indicate if you are submitting for oral or poster presentation. The final decision will be informed by the Scientific Committee. Guidelines for both presentations will be provided on the website. Authors of selected posters may be called to present during the poster session.

  • Notification of Acceptance

    • Notifications of acceptance or rejection of the abstracts will be sent to the corresponding author of the abstract by 20 September 2019.
    • The corresponding author receives all correspondence concerning the abstract, and is responsible for informing all co-authors of the status of the abstract.
    • The presenting author of an abstract must register for the Conference.
